Reality TV - American Idol

I've been reading posts about American Idol for the last few days now and noticed that everyone here suddenly appears to be a top music producer or talent scout.
I have been watching American Idol over here in the UK and agree that Sanjaya may not be the best singer in the world but lets remember one thing guys - its the great American public who are voting for who goes and who stays.
If you hate him so much, why the hell don't you vote to get rid of him instead of whinging on about how c.r.a.p. he is ?
Maybe I'm wrong but the point of the program is that the public chose who goes and who stays - if he is still there, must mean one hell of a lot of people still like him

I don't think he is that bad - he is entertaining anyway.
Don't think American Idol or the British Pop Idol and X factor are really about the best singers anymore but more about who will entertain the public
Loads of young girls will buy Sanjaya's records if he makes them and thats what the record companies will look at.
But like you said, its in the hands of the American public

You are absolutely right. Usually the people who complain the loudest, don't vote at all (just like in real elections). If you don't like Sanjaya that much, then vote for someone else..anyone else, but him so he finally gets voted off. Frankly, it doesn't matter because this kid will be a star no matter what..bad voice and bad hair be damned.
