How long was your studying life?? Were you hardworking to your studuy? How was education important to you? WHat did you learn most in your education? In what way did it affect your personality ,behaviour, thinking???? 'Some people are well educated but theie behaviours are awful, they do not know how to respect people, speak rudely,I am just wondering what did they learn in their education.' How about you?

Having bad manors has nothing to do with education that we are taught from our parents. And if we corrected when we are rude to each other. I parents were very strict when it came to manners. One time I was chewing food with my mouth open and my mom smacked me right across the face at the table. I never did that again.LOL

Well in regards to my education I went to school and also too, two different colleges in my life. So if you count them all up then I would have to say that it was for 14 years altogether,. My education to me was very important. In regards to what I learnt, the main subject that helped me was my english classes and how to debate, the main education that taught me about my personality, behaviour and thinking was when I went to business colledge as they taught the students about all of this.

True,Education does not teach you the knowledge on your books, also teach you how to be a good person and how to act in a proper way.

My studying life in school ended in 1992 so I was 21 when my formal education ended. I did spend a couple additional months studying at the place that I work at now. I did work hard, especially in high school and college and my most recent education. Of course, every day in life is a learning experience so I never stop learning new things. Some people just are plain rude and do not care what people think and probably did not care about their education either.

I think a lot more when I studied, as most of the times I also made a good use out from it. I'm happy that I'm well-educated, as I learned the english languge when I was at school and was happy to use it here on mylot. I always try to appreciate a lot of things too, because this only proves that I am a well-educated person. I am also happy that being educated didn't turn me away from reality, as I still have my friends since childhood. I won't let education give any negative effect on my way of living, as I do not judge other people by the way they look and how were they educated. I am happy that wisdon came along with my intelligence, that I can balance the things that I should consider, to avoid, to have and also to ignore..

Being well educated alone may not represent anything, one have to have good manner when dealing with people and make the good use of their knowledge to do the right thing.. I do not know why when I read your discussions or replies, I think you are a good person. I mean those ones which i will admire when i see them.:)

I studied for a long time. Wait, let me count: after highschool, I had 4 years of university, 3 years of medical schooling, 1 year of Master's and 1 year of Certification Program for Education. I would say that I'm relatively hardworking because I stayed in school for that long! Education is obviously very important to me. I sacrificed many things like lovelife, sleep, out-of-town and out-of-country vacation, and partying. From my long years of education, I have learned the value of patience, humility, perseverance and empathy. I got to mingle with different sets of people and have learned people's behavior. I have learned to improve my people skills and social interaction. I have patterned my conduct after role models (like pertinent professors) who had shaped my life and made me a better individual. Happy myLotting!

You bring up a good point here, methinks. I believe there is a difference between "book smarts" and "world smarts." Some UC students seem to develop a sense of superiority. They are used to the people they go to school with, and are probably annoyed at others' seeming "stupidity." I was never the dumbest in school, but I don't think I was the smartest, either. And I certainly was never the hardest working (I rarely try very hard). I'm in school now, pursuing a degree in ASL (American Sign Language). I don't talk to many people, but I value the relationships I have. And I happen to have more friends outside of school than inside.

I am quite educated in my opinion - i have a professional pharmacist degree and have also further gone on to get my Masters. I think education moulds you a lot - it teaches you to be independent and improves analytical ability. The process of education also teaches you that things in life do not come easy and you have to work towards achieving what you want.

I completed a 3 year diploma in electronics engineering technology. Education was very important to me. I was a single mother and I knew if I was going to be able to raise these kids off welfare, I had to get an education. I knew when I started I had to study hard. I was the only girl who graduated in my class in 1991. I don't think education changes your personality that much. You are still the same person that started that course but maybe alittle maturer and you know more about a certain subject. I think respect, being rude and bad behavior is all part of growing up and your personality.

I feel an education is very important. It helps enhance your knowledge and experience in the world. I want to earn my Masters. I started on it and then needed a break. It is hard work. I did not like the program I was in and I am looking into something else. It also depends on the person too. Education is not for everyone. Also, some companies offer on the job training that can help enhance one career's as wel.

Well, my studying life had been about 13 years. I started Standard one or First Grade when I was 7 and now I'm waiting for entry into university. Erm, I can't say that I was very hardworking. Perhaps somewhat hardworking only. I wished I studied more but it's no use crying over spilt milk. I just have to concentrate on my future and hope I don't screw up again. I feel that education is absolutely important to me. Most jobs out there require at least a certificate. And even those graduates with university degrees are having trouble finding jobs! So, it's not really predictable. Yes, I agree with you when you said that some well-educated people can be horrible. It all depends on their personalities, the way they were brought up, who they mixed with, etc. I don't think it was education that made them that way. There are so many factors that can contribute to their snobbish attitudes. I think the best way to deal with these kind of people is to just ignore them. If they make you uncomfortable when you are with them, why waste your time spending time with people like them who don't appreciate your company? I'd rather be alone than spend a minute with people who are always trying to put me down.

I feel an education is always a good thing. I learned alot during mine - the most important thing i learned was how to find and process information. I think this is a necessary thing to know in our society. i went to university for 5 years. Years well spendt in my mind An education is not always used wisely. An education does not ensure good behaviour. How we choose to use what we learn is a highlt individual thing.

Education was necessary for myself coz my future speciality required for it. My studies took 8 years. 6 years at University Medical faculty and then specialisation 2 years. Agree with u, that high education means person is good or intelligent. For myself those years of my studies made changes to my personality. I was naive girl came from small town to capital. Thanks God i met amazing people, found friends who accepted me as I am and also helped to become me such as i am now. Not every educated person need or want to analyse itself and divest their faults .

Yes:) Just Im not studying. I graduate my studies 12 years ago and am working. But anyway my education didn't changed my attitude to other people without education. Sometimes education means nothing accordingly to personality.

it took me five years in college to finish my engineering major. i could have done it in four but i had to work a part time job because tuition fees were kinda expensive plus i had to pay for my daily expenses. i learned a lot from that experienced. i was able to study and work hard eventhough im always tired, i learned to manage my time. and most importantly, i learned to value money.

I JUST scraped through Year or Level 12 in High School and have never returned to a formal education since..... In terms of classes and subject matter I disliked school immensely. I have been fortunate enough to have worked my way patiently through a number of roles to get where I am today and am surrounded by people with University Degrees! Funnily enough some of the least intelligent people I have met are highly educated and vice versa! I jokingly tell people that I have a Masters Degree from the "University of Life"!! I have a thirst for knowledge for sure, just not the knowledge that was offered to me through institutional settings.....

Education doesn't have a correlation with good or bad manners. It may be rude in one culture but it may be okay in another culture. For instance, it is a common thing for eating with a bit sound in one culture. But it is considered as a bad manner for other culture. So, good or bad manners are often influenced by many factors (i.e., cultures, social environment, upbringing, situations, etc.).

i have been receiving education when i was 7 years old. and i finished my education two years a go with a BA. i do not know whether i have been much more awesome in personality or something. and i have been a teacher now. and i find being educated and educating are quite different kinds of things. being educated is realy really easy, all u have to do is just sitting there and listening to what the teachers are talking about, and that is the situation when i was a student. but thing s changed now. i teach in the class. and i find that my studetns just keep on talking without noticing the presence of me. and i do not knwo why , they have b een educated for about at least of of 9 years now. how can they know nothing about hte basic rules of a classroom teaching activiy. and it is not my lessons are boring or shiit. my lessons have been praised by a lot of my colleagues.i just have no idea what the hell is wrong with the kids nowadays. is it because they are the only kid at home. so they are spoiled by their parents when they are young. and they have no idea of respect or soemthing even though with so many years of education. wanna quit my job now. just fed up with this. and i am earning little with my teaching job.................................

Education is really of two types, you know. One is te education at schools and colleges while the other is the education that we receive from our day to day interactions in life. When you are talking about people who have good school education but awful manners, they just haven't had enough real-world learning. Sooner than later, they will realize that there is a lot more to learning than the diplomas and degrees that they have earned. I have spent fifteen years of mine and am still studying. I have spent some time working and running about too. I believe that I have learned a lot more by interacting with people than by the books that I have studied. I believe very strongly in learning hands-on, sadly a component that is not given its due credit by most of the schools and colleges in my country.

lemme count, primary school, 6 years, secondary school, 5 years, matriculation 2 years, degree 4 years, total of 17 years of schooling. wow that's half my age. but think behavior and manners does not really have much to do with what they learn in schools, more of the way of their upbringing i think. cheers
