Summer heat is on, what's your sun protection?

summer heat - Too much exposure to sun's rays is bad for your skin

Hmmm.. During summer I like going to beaches, of course to swim and also to relax and simply have fun... To protect my self I use sunblock with high SPF just to make sure i don't get burns but the result is my skin gets darker and it exfoliates much slower than the usual. Are you experiencing the same effects of SPF lotion in your skin? What do you think is the best sun protection this summer?

I have to use at LEAST spf 30 because I'm fair skinned and burn so easily. I do drop down to a spf 15 once I have a base tan, but if it's going to be extremely hot, I go back to the spf 30 again. I don't notice any problems with my skin exfoliating slower or anything though. I guess I get lucky there. They do tell us that if you sweat while you're sunbathing, to not shower for at least an hour after coming out of the sun. Apparently your body uses your sweat to replace the salts in the skin. Maybe that could have something to do with it?

It's good that you do not have problems with exfoliating... You know, whenever I use sunblock, the effects afterwards is ugly, I get uneven skin tone, it feels like I have patches of brown and light skin all over me.. Its real ugly.

I use a 15 spf until I get my base tan; then an 8 spf. If I get to spend enough time in the sun to get a good dark tan, then I move to a 4 or a 2 tan oil by the end of summer.
