The law does not allow it because its murder yet some religions do allow it! Do you think killing people is okay even if it is for their own good, for example if they are seriously ill nd in pain and will die anyway or do you think you shouldn't take somebody's life into your own hands even if they allow you to, even if they beg you to? I could never kill somebody, never! Even if it was my own mother in her death bed i would have to wait for the lord to do his work and take her life when the time is right. Yet thinking about it i think it would play on your concience for ever and torment you! Its a very tough decision to make and i don't think i would cope! What about you?
