Sanjaya and American Idol, and Match Made In Hell...

How disgusted Simon Cowell must be that he allowed Paula and Randy to talk him into allowing Sanjaya to move forward in the competition. They eliminated other finalists to put Sanjaya into the final 12. His sister was someone who didn't make it very far. How bad could she had been to be the worse of the two? I think AI is starting to learn. In it's contest for the songwriters, people will only be allowed to vote once. Hopefully, that idea carries over into future seasons of American Idol. No more power to the group that wants to vote for the worst. Do you still watch American Idol? Do you think I am possibly harsh in my assessment? I don't think he's any good, but maybe you do.

I don't watch american idol anymore, don't know why but they surely have some wrongly thought in choosing the candidate. Most of it now just rely on their high-pitched voice, or long breath. No one have a voice like Frank Sinatra. Well, why i choose Frank Sinatra ? first, he never used long breath voice right ? but he made a great memorable voice. None of them have a great or memorable voice in American idol now... For Sanjaya, sorry to say, but he is just average according to me..

I am not a big fan of Frank Sinatra, but I do understand your point of view. He wasn't a strong vocalist in my opinion, but he was pure like Sammy Davis Jr. I do think, however; that Doolittle and Jordin Sparks are fabulous talents.

I love Frank Sinatra. He had such a unique voice. He could twist the hardest lyrics into a lovely song. One of my favorites is "You Got Me Under Your Skin". Lloyd

I watch American Idol every week. At first(Audition,Hollywood week), I liked Sanjaya, but I've come to realize that he isn't a very good singer. People vote for him because the show is more entertaining with him in it.

Can you believe that a woman went on a hunger strike to protest Sanjaya? She wasn't dedicated, she went off the diet in sixteen days because her doctor said it wasn't good. LOL, what a great life to have to let such a trivial issue consume your life.

Well, who knows what the end results will be in this, but this yrs. show compared to last yr. is a little boring, and there just is not the Talent on there either like last yr. I am not sure how a lot of them made it to the final 12. But I guess we can just sit back and watch and hope for the best for next yr.

I read somewhere the other day that isn't just the lack of talent, it's the discrepancy of talent. With semi-professional singers going up against children, the cut off point is so distinctive, so thorough and complete, it's become boring. We can only hope that this leads to a phenomenal final four. My guess, is they change rules and make adjustments for next year. (And cut out the twelve guys, twelve female BS, just do the top 24...this year there wouldn't have been any men, but things balance out)

I don't watch American Idol anymore. I'm tired of having to get involved with a show that I have to watch all the espisodes. It's like Dancing With The Stars. I watched it everytime it came on last season to see who would win. This time I'm not watching. Plus you can see the results of American Idol on every station. Every network is hanging on the coat tails of AI. Larry King might as well be a judge. To be honest though, I do like Sanjaya because he is playing the game like he's on Survivor. He knows he's not the best talent, but he knows how to work the audience and the public. I hope he finally get's kicked off, but he'll wind up on a sit com or something else. He has that innocent charisma that people like. Lloyd

I never thought of Sanjaya operating in Survivor mode. That would absolutely give him more respect for playing the game. Hell, I might even vote, ah, no. I still can't stand his singing. I bet Sanjaya is hoping the fat chick and the fat guy on hunger strike eventually get down to slightly overweight and not just obese.

I don't sit through a whole show of American Idol anymore. I find it so boring, and not fun to watch at all. Last year I didn't miss one show. We have tivo so we could watch it and skip the commercials. Now when my husband says, honey it's time to watch American Idol, I say, that's ok, I'll do the dishes while you are watching it. I think you are right. I bet Simon regrets that he let them talk him in to having Sanjaya stay on. I don't enjoy listening to him sing, and watching him at all. I feel sorry for him. He thinks he has talent because the people out there are voting for him. I think it is cruel and he doesn't deserve it. I feel really bad for him. One day he is going to find out that has been used as a joke, and that is so mean. I don't vote for anyone now. Last year I was really into it. This year has become an immature joke of a show to watch. They will probably come up with another way to vote. I don't see how they can keep the mean people from doing this again.

Not only is it boring, it is two long. I don't remember struggling to watch two hours of the show before. It's just hard. I don't even watch the results show anymore. I just wait until they do a review on Television Without Pity.

Well i think he's got personality but lacks talent in the singing dept! He has a voice but not a strong one compared to the other finalists. The Judges are the ones to blame for all the hoopla because they chose him to remain in AI over other talented up and coming singers (and I mean with a voice!). I have missed this weeks show and was dissapointed to see Gina go last week or was it this week. She sang a beautiful song and I couldn't believe that was her singing! She wasn't one of my favourites but after hearing her sing last week, wow, I would buy her CD if she ever made one!

I actually liked Gina. She had a voice that featured another genre. I love the strong gospel choir sound, the R and B, strong voice styles that this years competition has, but I need the rocker and the country singer as well. The competition is so much more than a strong voice, it's crosses genres, mindsets, and beliefs. I hope it gets better... real soon.
