Business cards - do you keep them?

So let's see again :D
I received many business cards from people I met in my life. Sometimes I check and select them, which one I may need in the future. But now I am thinking about:
Do the people really give it to me, because they want me to call them??? Or is it only a courtesy? Is it only a habit?
what do you think?
(If it is not correct I will reastart again LOL)

i usually keep the business cards safely.....
who knows they might come handy at any time later.

Yes, the sad fact of the matter is I do keep them, even if they are years old, I am a collector and don't like to throw stuff away because I might need it at a later date, it doesn't take up room, I put them in a wallet and I know where they are in the future if I should need them at all.

I don't keep any, I just copy information from business card to my computer and note book. People are giving away business cards, because it is easy way to exchange phone numbers.

Yesterday I received one from a repairer. My washing machine went to wrong and I had to call somebody. I hope I will never have to call him again to fix my machine.

usally i keep the one that i can use, and the one that i dont i throw them away i ahve a business card, on it is a coupon so people can come in to my resturant and use it for a discount

I think people give business cards to us hoping that maybe us or someone we know will need their services one day and call them.
I don't keep all the business cards I receive. Sometimes I go through all my stuff in my purse and I throw most of the cards except the ones I really need.
