what pokemon did you choose to start off with and why? and who do you think is the best pokemon to start off with?

it always start with bulbasaur. strong against ground/rock and water type. i played blue version. to help me on with misty, i scourged viridian forest for a pikachu.
does anyone know how to get a mew?

I used Bulbasaur as my starter in Red because he used to be my favorite Pokemon. I think Squirtle is the easiest to use as a starter.

I used squirtle in blue version. Water pokemons are the easier to train I think really. In gold I used Cyndaquil and ruby I used mudkip (Water/Ground is just fantastic).
