Are there any added features or rewards for reaching the 500? What are some advantages?

I dont really know what you can do now. But congrats on your 500. I got a ways to go to get there still.

Now that you've reached 500 posts, you can use the copy/paste feature. But use this feature only when necessary and not to violate mylot rules as in copying others responses or copying stuff from the net. You can also add images to your responses and comments. You get paid for these images too. Congrats on reaching this milestone...hope to see more discussions from you!:)
