im a guitarist, but at first, i was just curious about guitars until i can't get it out of my head, so i've decided to ask my friend, a really good guitarist, to teach me, and he did! notes, major, minor scales, pentatonic scales, harmonics, octaves, modes, etc.. and much more! the lessons just keep piling up! i can't possibly type all of it in one discussion.. but here's a little of what i know.. we have 8 notes in an octave, C D E F G A B and C, and every note having its own scales, like the second note in Cmaj, D, which is called dorian mode..D E F G A B C..but we're still in the key of C, 'coz if it's in D, then the scale must be D E Fsharp G A B Csharp D...it's just one part of one lesson that i know...how 'bout you?

I am a guitarist as well. However I do not know that many scales. Instead I know a great deal of chords with which I do not have any problems. I have always had problems with scales bu I enjoy chords more. I can also read notes and tabs which makes reading notes useless. Guitar is so much fun to play but if you don't know what you are doing then you are wasting your time.

ok.. maybe your not a lead guitarist, because if your one you must learn this things like scales and be able to write a song accurately and play notes accurately and uhm.. every guitarist must have a listening ear so that they won't depend on tablatures like that and to tell you the truth about music chords is just the basics but if you can do chord building that is something and i hope your not just copying music from other band or something i hope you can write or compose new fresh songs as well... i advice you to learn more about music not just guitar but music as well.. thanks and uhm.. keep rockin' enjoy and let's do our best to have a better music.. peace men..

I am a music lover and listening to it has been part of my life. For me, life without music makes my world boring. I have been a fan of it since I was highschool. I know how to play some instruments but I'm not that an expert of one of them. A friend of mine taught me how to play guitar but I only learned the basics and some scales. I am not much of a musician like my younger brother. I also know how to play drums but not that good on it. I played it once in a party of my friend. That makes me so proud of myself. I gain fame for just an hour or two but that memeories last forever.

As i am a choir member and i've been an active Music Ministry Soloist in our school before. I don't know how to play guitars all i know is to sing and some keyboard actually.
