Would you sacrifice your higher position for a lower one for bigger income?

And it is happening in my country, Philippines. Many of our doctors would like to be a nurse because according to them the salary for nurses is bigger than doctors! Position wise, Doctor is higher than nurse, isn't it? Would you sacrifice your position for a lower one? What is your opinion?

I will be tempted to do that if the discrepancy in pay is considerable. For what good will it be if I will be holding a high position but, it cannot meet the financial needs of the family? Financial consideration plays a vital role whenever we seek jobs. Aside from this doctor to nurse thing taking place, lots of professionals have opted to become call center operators because the pay is much higher than those of other jobs. Most will start at Php15,000 which will be above Php20,000 after six months of service. If husband and wife work, that will definitely spell financial freedom to some degree for most families where their kids are not beyond 3.

That's the biggest problem that the Philippines are now facing. We "pinoys" or filipinos are just practical. Doctors have to sacrifice of being a doctor because they want to have a bigger salary. Because they want to give their family a luxurious life. In my opinion, our government must solve this problem immediately because sooner or later we filipino would wake up someday that we dont have doctors anymore.

In our country doctors still make more money than nurses so I doubt that would ever happen here. Frankly, I wouldn't want to have to sacrifice a position like that in order to have more money. Ultimately, I would end up feeling resentful. I guess I would look for an equal position that paid at least what I was making previously.
