I have never written a novel, but I have thought about trying to. I have never met a novelist although I have met a few non-fiction writers. I have had some poetry published over the years but nothing exciting.

I am a writer, and will soon be published by a small publishing house called Dreamcatcher Publishing. (In April) I have never met a published author, but consequently have met a few aspiring authors. I am giddy about the upcoming publsihing date, and get butterflies in my stomach thinking about meeting people during book signings.

Thank you. And you're right, it is worth it to know someone enjoyed it. If they don't I go back to the writing board so to speak.

Does he feel a kind of rush as he's writing, where he wants to know where the story is headed, and where it's true ending will be? To me writing a novel is like reading one. I give myself a sketch of the story, indepth understanding of each of my characters, everything from their career, dislikes, likes, scars (Even if they never get used in the story). I always leave myself open to the end, that way I am urged to reach it. I've written seven books, and my fourth one is the novel getting published. I think that's exciting that you are helping him through. I love my wife tremendously, but she's more of my editor. Thank you for answering.

Each Novel has been different. My first, believe it or not, took from September (My daughters birth month) to my birth month Novemeber. Just less than 3 months.about 2 and a half, mostly because of full time work. The rest have varied, and the longest took maybe 6 months a little longer. An thank you very much. Tell him to stick with it, and in the end all will work out for him.

He's more of a spur of the moment inspiration writer, but he definitely feel that rush of excitement that you mentioned. I'm like your wife in that I tend to edit his work as well, but I am also a part of the developement of the story and its characters. He hopes to get published one day too. How long does it take you to finish a novel? Oh, and congrats on getting published!!!!

I've written a novel, it's called The Brilliant Desturction Of Silence. It's basically a biography of my life as a child, all the bad stuff i went through and How i survived it, etc etc. I'm currently writing my second, but it's a fictional story this time.

Have you thought about sharing it or sending it to a publisher? I am soon going to share one of my novels on here...most likely not the whole thing but I want to share my love of writing with others. Also to get feedback.
