how do you know if someones your true friend?

i have a friend(1) who had a friend(2) who was supposably her best friend ... her so called best friend went and backstabbed her badly she(2) went and stole something and blamed it on on my friend(1) and she is now being accused of stealing !!! things like this bug me out cuz she thought that was her best friend !!! wtf?? so how can you truely tell whos true and not???

You can never avoid to be hurt by sb.even the person who is your close friend. and even if you know how to tell a true friend, you still cannot avoid such a situation. cuz' the person who never hurt you and always consider for you is the true friend. If you are never hurt, you never know which one is worth to believe as a true friend.
the person who hurt you are certaily not the true friend, just forget him or her, don't remember it in your heart. If you always concern the damn thing, you are hurting yourself.

True friendship is always reveiled in wether the person is selfish or selfless.. a true friend attempts to place your need in an equal importance to himself...
