What are your memories of childhood that stand out the most for you? I remember my dad teaching me to ride my bike. I remember running from my older brother as he was ready to kill me for something. I had a great childhood and thanks to my mother I have so many memories of her and I. My fondest memory is spending time with my grandparents and walking on the beach hand and hand. My grandfather and I found a baby octopus and he gently picked it up and threw it back into the ocean. I really admired him that day and every day since.

I have an older brother too...he used to beat on me terribly! Most of the funniest memories I have of growing up was getting in to trouble with my older brother. We ALWAYS used to aggravate my poor Mother to no end. My fondest memory would have to be the day he came home from boot camp (Army), he gave me one of his dog tags so I could show the world who my big brother was. I have it to this day. (Love ya, Jeff)

Sad but true, I always wanted to be just like him too! He was my best friend. I look back now and am thankful for the fact that I was kind of a "tomboy" growing up. My brother taught me how to be independent, strong, and how to fight. I feel that without those painful lessons growing up, I never would have made it through some of the trials I had dealt with in my past. Not to mention, if it wasn't for my brother teaching me about cars, I would get ripped off everytime I had to take my car into the shop. :)

I remember the Coca Cola plant and it was a wonder watching how the proccess of bottling Coke was. Climbing trees and getting the fruit (mango, starapple, philippine fruits called santol, duhat, makopa and sometimes guava). Watching the stars at night, waiting for a shooting star and making a wish. Ghost stories when there were blackouts (yes, that is normal in the philippines and we dont panic when there's a blackout or no electricity.) Eating fresh sugar cane. Playing with my brothers and exploring our neighborhood. Being happy as children even though we had no TV and no computers or videogames. And we were healthy kids because we stayed outdoors and playing was a physical thing like running. How i wish i were a child again, so free of worries and so happy with the simple life we had.
