Hot or not?

I've noticed a number of discussion recently under headings like "How Do I Look?". "What Do You Think Of My New Picture?", and "Who Here Thinks I'm Hot?"....Now, if we are to belive that the image they have posted is actually them then 100% of the time they are usually scorching hot....so why ask? Are people really that vain that they have to hear from complete strangers how cute they are when they probably hear it every day of their life?
The best most of us can hope for on a daily basis is an offhand remark from our spouse like..."Wow, you showered today.", or "I like that hat, it hides most of your face." My point is, if you are facially gifted then just be happy and quit looking to get showered with praise for something you really had nothing to do with in the first place.
BTW...how hot is my new picture?

I think a lot of it is ego masturabtion. I have a few friends that are strippers and wow, if they could marry their mirror, I am sure they would but that never stops them from asking anyone that is able to answer with a yes, no or nod in either dirfection if they look "OK". Me, I'm content when I can roll out of bed, find something to put on and make it down the steps let alone seeking approval from someone else. Camo pants, sport bra and badeball cap are my usual digs these days, sure I might throw om a sweatshirt if it gets cold but that's me LOL.
Every week there seems to be a new website asking .. "Am I Hot Or Not?" and people flock to them to rate pictures of other people. Maybe I'm a little too old school. I thought you were supposed to be happy with yourself, not out to impress other people. Ohhh ... what a novel concept lol.
By the way, scorching new pic ... even if it's the same one.

sounds like we have the same wardrobe...minus the sports bra for me of course...LOL....it's very strange to me that people need their ego stroked that way....reeks of insecurity to me.

Oh inked, you are definitely hot! I am so hot that I dare not grace my fellow mylotians with my picture, I don't think the community is ready! Ha! I realize that your discussion is tongue-in-cheek, but I just have to throw in some cheap counseling tidbits. Those who need constant feedback and reassurance about their beauty or worth, are so terribly insecure and lacking in self-esteem that it is frightning. Those of us who KNOW how gorgeous we are are narsacistic and self-centered. How does one win? Seems like a damned-if-you do, damned-if-you don't situation to me?!

I'm always tempted to reply with some sarcastic comment about their appearance when I see these discussions but I restrain myself and ignore them usually. If they're really seriously asking the question then their ego's are obviously fragile enough already without me making it worse. Most of the time I think it's not their picture anyway and it's just posted to get a lot of responses - which sadly these discussions usually do.

If its really them or not I think its there one way of feeing there confidence cause they notice that its getting weak.
Whenever I encountered thi kind of discussion I just ignore them cause I don't want to get in to this kind of stupidity.

I laughed while reading my e-mail at the topic. I haven't asked yet, but do you like my new eyeglasses? I could ask this question for all my friends, but don't want anyone to say no I don't like them.

I thought i was the only one who thinks like that whenever i encountered that kind of posts. I don't reply them because i don't want to tell a lie. It makes them happy so let's leave them on their wildest imagination.
WOW! YOU LOOK HOT TOO!!!

haha...yeah. Those discussions are crazy. What if someone posts one and they're butt ugly, what do you do then? Do you just ignore their post, lie to them, telling them they're beautifully built, or tell them how hideous they are?? People really are so vain these days that they have to post picture of themselves everywhere asking how they look to complete strangers. Who cares..I don't. I don't care if some weirdo on the internet thinks I'm good looking. wooppie. It would mean more coming from my boyfriend, or sister, or something...ya know...strange strange...
BTW..your picture..can't be described with words..( take that in anyway you please )
