I need to vent!

I am in a parents group that I used to absolutely love! But it seems nowadays everytime I send out an email all they do is jump to conclusions and then start jumping on me before they get their facts straight.
For example I sent out an email stating that I was going to quit smoking but I failed at it.. cause I bought another pack of cigs today. Well I get three people email me back being rude and saying that You have a child with severe asthma and you smoke in your house?
I'm like where in my email did I state that I smoke in my house. We smoke outside.. but they didn't ask me that before they started sending out their rude comments.
This is becoming my pet peeve... Someone jumping to a conclusion before they get all their facts straight. Sorry I had to get that out :)

Being a parent is hard enough, without other mother's jumping all over you, every moment you open your mouth. I have some great friends, but we were all great friends before we had kids, and now we all live apart, but when we lived closer, OUr kids would always play. ANd sometimes my friends parent thier children differently than I do, and sometimes I think what they do is unwise, but I've never said anything, and never will, unless they ask for advice, because they aren't hurting thier kids, just making things more difficult on themselves. I don't know why some people feel the need to dramatize everything, it's almost like highschool all over again.

You have just stumbled on why I don't get along with most parent groups. They all seem so hyper and quick to judge! They think their way is the only acceptable way to do something, and heaven help you if you mention spanking (on the rear only, NOT beating) your child. I am just not a sheeple, so I don't get along well with the minivan brigade.
As you might be able to tell, sheeple are my biggest pet peeve. To define for those who might not understand, sheeple are people who act like sheep - easily rounded up and led, following the herd. I think for myself, research things rather than blindly follow 'experts', and generally do what works for me and my family, without worrying if it's what everyone else is doing.

OH MY... I mentioned spanking my 5 year old... when I first got in that group. Now mind you I put in how difficult it is for me to spank any of my children and that when I do it is hard for me not to cry.. and boy did I get jumped on. lol! They always put that they are just stating their own opinions but the way they put it.. and the way they continusly send email after email argueing their point its not hard to see that they think their way is the only way!

you have the same petpeeve that I do, people jumping to there own ideas of what I am saying without knowing all the facts or actually asking what I meant by a comment,. It is like man if you don't know the whole story don't be rude and jump to what you think. Me myself I believe these people that do this are people that think they are above and beyond others and really need to clean there doorstep before speaking bad of others.
