Kentucky has got their new head basketball coach. In less than 24 hours after Billy Donovan of the Florida Gators turned down the job. Billy Gillespie of Texas A&m said yes. I am so excited. I can't wait til Nov. I really feel he will bring back the excitement that had been missing for soo long. What do you Ky fans think?

I've heard great things about him and his recruiting abilities so I am a very anxious to see what he can do and what he can do for Kentucky.
It can't be as bad as Tubby - right? Let us hope not LOL.
The bad thing is Tubby already did the recruiting for this years season. But hopefully with the right direction we can still maintain a decent season.
Ahh...to have the excitement back!

I am excited to see if this helps with recruiting this year or if we will have to wait a couple of years to see some improvement. It seems like that has been UK's biggest problem for the last 10 years....maybe since Saul Smith was the point guard. Not sure, not that we haven't had some good players, recruiting and UK Basketball just hasn't been the same since 1996. I hope Gillespie starts out strong and is long lasting.
By the way, were you surprised Donovan turned them down? I was surprised they even asked. I know UK is supposed to be one of the highest NCAA basketball coaching jobs, but he did just win the NCAA Tournament two seasons in a row. Who were we kidding? Wishful thinking I guess.
