I am so mad!

I went to the mall today and my husband and me walked by the pet store and we always go in and look. They had the cutest puppies, but the way they were displayed made me furious. They were in metal cages with no padding in it at all. How can they keep those poor puppies in there all day like this? That has to be the most uncomfortable thing. I think it borders on animal torture and I am going to report it. Have you ever seen puppies displayed like this and what do you think about it?

Yes, I see this in every pet store. It is so the feces will drop into the container and the puppies won't be sitting in it. I admit, it breaks my heart, but having them wallowing in poo is sadder yet.

Yes but couldn't they at least have a little pad in the corner of the cage so they have a comfortable little spot to sleep on?

I haven't actually noticed about padding in the cages. We also have this pet store in our place and we always go there to look at some puppies, hamster, fish & rabbits among other animals. One thing I am sure though that animals would always communicate to us if they are in pain or uncomfortable and so far I have always seen them calm and sleepy.

You've got a good point there. Good luck with your complaints.

Yep, that is the way it is done at pet stores. That is why I don't like going in them. I want to take them all home. We adopted our kitten from Pet Smart and they are the same way. There is nothing that can be done about it, they are just trying to find homes for these animals, that don't have them. I think there has to be a better way, but until someone starts making a better way for these animals, this is one of the best ways to get animals adopted.
