i'm not saying you should and i'm not saying you shouldn't but many people have formed good long lasting relationships over the internet, the internet is a great meeting place for people and because of email and instant messaging it makes it easier to talk and easier to break the ice it also makes it easier to walk away if you want to. I met my current partner over the internet, and we have been living together for 5 years now so that says something i would think. You can get to know someone online get to know who they are and what they are like but of course that is all down to them telling you the truth about themselves in the first place.
