It's ridiculous not to "think" before you speak. I mean, how could someone say something without thinking about what he is going to say? Literally, anything said without thinking, it wouldn't be "language" of any kind; It'd be barking. Indeed our thoughts are largely based on the languages that we use, without which it'd be impossible to express what we feel inside, however, languages don't necessarily come before thoughts or your feelings, and the reason is that simple. If you don't have any potatoes, how could you make any French fries? You see, in order to speak up, you gotta have things you want to say. So you can't really say "think before you speak" because subliminally we all think. It's only a matter of how thorough and careful we do that job.

"I like to listen my words for the first time along with the others" that is what I would have said if it would have been 2000 instead of 2007. i mean when I was about 10 I used to talk just to talk but now when my may words mean something to someone I just like to think on my words before they come out.

It seems like I have always been around people who seem to force me to think before I speak. My father - though I love him very much - is always so critical of what I say that I have always felt the need to think before saying much around him. That goes way back to childhood.
My mother is the type that if you say something to offend her she holds on to it and the anger that goes with it. So I was always careful to think before speaking with her.
Now, my husband is just such a careful person about thinking before he speaks and especially careful about not saying something if it is not necessary. I try to be as good about what I say as he is.
I have a girl friend or two that I am comfortable to just say whatever comes to mind when I am with them. I love to be around them because it is almost like a release sometimes.

I actually think before i speak ! You should always watch the words that are coming out of your mouth.. Its really hard to take something back that you have said..I used to say whatever came up in my mind, but then i realised its not such a great idea.. It was hard for me to change that habit in the beginning, but I guess you get the hang of it after a while. Now, Im doing pretty good when it comes to speaking, clearly watching out my words..
