How does the reputation system work?

There are practically two rating systems here. One is to rate your overall activity (how active you are on the site) and is given by the number in the parenthesis near your name. As you have probably noticed it increases each time you post a reply. The other rating system rates the quality of your activity here and is shown in a star you get once you're past your 100 post. This rating is influenced by the other mylotters who rate your posts with that + and - you see on the right. Hope it helps :)
