Your understanding is precise.
I think you have taken little more time to understand this.
Any way it's always better than never so continue to the poor users who responded you with a hope of best response since a long.
It would be a good habit if you will clean up or resolve your discussions after a weeks time promptly.
All the best from oarnamav.

Yes, you're right, unresolved discussions are discussions without selected best response. We all have some problems with them, I guess. FE I have some discussions with one or two responses, and some discussions with no response at all. OK, if I have 2 responses, I have a tiny possiblity to choose, but to mark the only response as the best one isn't the best thing to do, in my opinion, especially when the response is "yes", "no", or even worse - "I don't know". I really wish we had the right to delete discussions with no responses, after - let's say, 6 months!

it means if we are not satisfied withnthe response or the discussion in which we have not marked any best response lies in that category

You have got this right. These unresolved discussions are the ones that you started and never gave a best response.
I usually wait for 3-4 weeks before I mark the best response because all the responses you hope to get or you will get come in that time.

Yes, this does contain any discussions for which you never chose a best response. Some of them might not even have a response. In that case, you could send your friends a message to help you clear out some of your unresolved discussions by going back in and participating.
