Did your dog change his/her attitude when you had a baby?

My dog Smokey used to be my wife's best friend. Then we had a daughter. Now Smokey wants nothing to do with my wife, and I spend half the time at home turning him on his back because he growls at her. Smokey is a cocker-spaniel/doctson mix, so he is not a large dog. He has yet to growl at my daughter, and obviously I would have to find a home for him if he showed any aggression towards my daughter, but what would you do to make him stop dong this? Has this ever happened to you before?

Oh no definantly not. I have Dobermans and they were absolutely great with the bubs. The thing is you cannot push the dog aside because of the baby the dog has to be involved too and make it an enjoyable experience so that when bub is around its a "good thing". It sounds like this is the case here. Your wife needs to spend time with him just like before it is a jealousy thing but the dog dosnt understand why it is being pushed away. The dog must associated being with the bub is good, that way he wont need to "select his rank" in the family.
OMG, I am really sorry, I really am not making sense, I know what Im trying to say but just cant put it into words. I hope my mummble jumbble helps a bit.
