If you ask me the reason, i would say due to high pressure on the shoulders of every players. If u see last world cup no one had expected that india will enter the finals, due to their poor performance in first two league matches. But unfortunately they failed to grab the cup.So this time there lot more expectations on team india, so it will be a great pressure on every players which resulted in the exit of india in 2007-world cup.

They are little bit nervous in the first match so they lost the first one then this loss leads to a lot more nervous in the third game so they lost to that too..also this was the last cup for some of the players like sachin..so their dream is to be to get a world cup ,so in that tesion they failed to perform well!!!

because the team was not good enough, inspite of some big names there in the team. they fail to perform collectively as a team. cricket is a team game and not a game based on individuals. and most of the big league players were too much involved in acting rather than practicing cricket.
