Acronym for aquired immune deficiency syndrome, a fatal desease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus, or HIV. Believed to have originated in Africa,AIDS has become an epidemic, infecting tens of millions of people worldwide. The virus which is transmitted from one individual to another through the exchange of body fluids (such as blood or semen), attacks white blood cells, thereby causing the body to lose it's capacity to ward off infection. As a result many AIDS patients die of opportunistic infections that strike their debilitated bodies. AIDS first appeared in the United States in 1981 primarily among homosexuals and intravenous drug users who shared needles, but troughout the world, it is also transmitted by heterosexual contact. Today scientists are hopefull that AIDS can be managed by new drugs, such as protease inhibitors, and need not be fatal.
This is the general information, which I believe you all know it. Do you take enough care? Are you afraid? Do you trust your partner enough to feel safe?

That disease really is alarming though I think I have low chances of having it as of now.. I have seen the suffering of a woman named Sarah Jane that had the AIDS. When she got pregnant, everybody was so disturbed about how the baby's gonna come out.. I think, until now, the baby is still under observation - I just think the kids case is pitiful..
No direct medicine can now be applied to a patient who's got this disease but I seriously hope that modern medical technology could eventually find out the way help the infected...

You can never know until you check out. I'm not trying to scare you, but seeing others suffering doesn't mean that you are OK. Some people have HIV and don't even notice it because they feel all right-they are probably not sick, but they can only carry the virus.

One of my friends that its inevitable that we would survive this one. She says sooner or later be prepared to get infected with it. I tend to disagree , yes the risk is high but we can not give up hope. Infact I have read thqat it has been around for million of years and Ayurveda does mention it and its cure too. It needs futher research.
May be its god's waqy to prevent cheating us our partners. but in any case I do trust my partner and apart form that yopu can get it even by blood transplant so before jumping to conclusions i will rather look for that reason. As he has been donating his blood in past quite regularly.

AIDS is a very fatal disease and of course nobody wants it!!! I'm not afraid of it since I'm very cautious especially when dealing with blood or needles. I don't get a manicure/pedicure because I'm afraid of the tools that they used. I'm 100% sure that I'm only sexually active with my bf and vice versa.

I am afraid of aids, but have nothing to worry about because I am certain that my partner does not have aids. I am also certain that I nor my partner will cheat on each other so for right now I am not worried.

To be 100% you have to taken the test. If you did so you are right to say it. But If I were you, I wouldn't be so sure. Snyway, you know best for yourself:)

Hell yeah I'm scared! I work in the healthcare industry and am in extremely high risk specially if the patient is not diagnosed yet. Everyday I fear that I will make a mistake and nick myself with a dirty needle and find out later that I got infected with this deadly dse that up to now still has no cure. Although there are ways to make the lives of AIDS patients better, it is still a mental torture to know that this disease will kill you. But then again, so does smoking and cancer.

Yes, I am afraid of getting AIDS. But i have really nothing to worry about because i am not seeing anyone at this time so it does not really scare me at that moment.
