Last week BBC1 produced a new star for the Sound of Music through a TV show called "How do you solve a problem like Maria?"
Last Saturday, they started to televise the search for the latest star of stage, a new Joseph to appear in the West End production of Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Tonight ITV starts to televise a similar programme searching for new stars to appear as Sandy and Danny in a new production of Grease.
Whats your view on picking stars of stage shows by this method?

I think its cool. John Barrowman said on TV last week that a year ago, if anyone had said there would be two prime time tv shows which gave attention to the stage musical, people whouldn't have believed it.
Stuff like this gives anyone the chance to live a dream and possibly star in a musical despite never having had any professional training.
