Torn between Family and Conviction.....

In my younger days I used to be active in fighting against corruptions and evil ones in the government. In so doing, I was harrassed, intimidated, and received several death threats. Despite of these, I continued my conviction and fight for my principle against abusive regime. But when they tried to inflict harm on my family, that was the time that I decided to lie low. That was also the time when Ninoy was killed. I was so disappointed with myself. That was my biggest failure in life, not being able to stand for what I am fighting for. But you see, I cannot sacrifice my family. They are my LIFE! Was I wrong or was I right with my decision?

You are guided by God, He orders your steps, perhaps this was not your fight, when the time comes God will tell you when to move, and you and your family will be protected, not harm shall come to you, In Jesus Name. Please, don't let anyone make you feel ashamed of wanting to keep your family alive. Trust God and know that He has a time and a season for everything.

i believe so. God has other plans for you. anyhow, you can still be active in fighting evil practices in our country by participating in discussions like here in mylot. there are posted discussions that tackle issues about politics, graft and corruption and the like. I actually noticed that some of your discussions pertain to these issues about our government. keep it up.

so you were one of the activist those times. well i was born in a family of activist. i understand your conflict. it is understandable. but dont worry as long you keep your principle and practice it in other ways you can, you can still affect that change that all of us fought for.
