Shastri is considered to be a shrewed person and was said to be a thinking captian, good in strategy. I think this is what India lacked during this world cup. And remember, he was the Champion of Champions during a an event in Australia when all the countries played what I would call the percuser to the Champions trophy just after India had won the World Cup. He played well, both with the bat and the ball as well as fielded well in that series if memory serves me right, and was justly awared by his peers then. Maybe this time around he will be able to do well with his fellow Indians?
Also remember, he is one of the better speakers on cricket, maybe he will put those skills to use and communicate well with the players? He jells well with younger people and maybe he will not be as authoratarian with the payers, amybe for the betterment of Indian cricket?
