well the ram used now a days commonly is about 1 gb,as far as modules are concerned 2 gb ram modules are available in the market for around 290 euro to 320 euro depending on brands.motherboards now a days support maximum 4 gb ram.instead of getting single big module of ram get two small modules of the size for dual channel ram it increases the speed of the machine.u can find extra info on http://www.pc-memory-upgrade.co.uk/memory/ddr-ram-pc5000.asp or for india go to www.pcprice.info

Building on its industry leadership in providing memory products based on new concepts such as Dual-Die-technology or innovative connector techniques for mobile computing, Infineon introduced: -- 2GB dual-die based DDR2 SO-DIMMs (Double Data Rate2, Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module) with improved thermal condition and power consumption -- Maximum memory density at smallest available DIMM size with the1GB DDR2 Micro-DIMM Infineon also expanded its graphics memory portfolio, supporting applications in both high performance to mainstream systems, with two new products: -- 512Mbit GDDR3 (Graphics Double Data Rate 3) memory with the increased density and bandwith needed for advanced 3D-Graphics -- New 256Mbit DDR2 Graphics RAM (Random Access Memory) reaching speeds of up to 450MHz at reduced footprint and with additional functionalities

They make 2gb sticks of RAM, and I think they might have 4gb sticks of RAM now. You can check the prices online at different places where you can get new parts for cheaper without having to buy them in a store. Check out this website maybe it'll help you. Visit: http://www.zipzoomfly.com I shop there a lot for great prices for new computer parts. I hope that helps you out :)

at first i thought, my computer was running slow because there was too much going on inside at the same time, too many processes running. so i tried eliminateing the background stuff , like popups and addons, you know the crap that gets dl'd to your site when you log into another. there's always crap that gets dl'd even when you don't want it because you deem the site to be safe.........i go in and eliminate that CRAP once a week and my computer runs much faster now. and by the way i'm running 760 ramm with 2.6 ghz processor, 2 gig hddrive, wireless mouse and ethernet and the rest is hardwired
