Okay, I agree that is great to use disposable plates and cutlery at your children's party or let's say when you have a snack party in the office BUT, how it is happen that most people in US use disposable plates, cups and cutlery everyday for lunch, diner etc???? What happened to setting the table and really enjoying a meal in real plates??? I simply cannot get used to paper plates at a diner table or for use on a daily basis. What types of plates you use and why??

Good question!! I think people are this way because they are just too lazy to clean up after themselves, and it's so much easier to just pick it all up, put it all into a garbage bag, and just throw it all away, to start over again the next time they want to eat.

I use paper plates for most meals. After working all day coming home and making dinner the fastest way for kitchen cleanup is paper plates. If I am making a Sunday dinner then it is regular dishes, but if you come to my house during the weekday then your probably going to get a paper plate.

I hate paper plates as well. I always use real plates unless we are at a park where glass is prohibited. I just like to have a real, sturdy plate and real, sturdy silverware. Plastic knives can never cut anything. Paper plates always buckle and fall apart. I also use dishtowels instead of paper towels and fabric napkins instead of paper ones. Aside from being sturdier and more economical, they are also better for the environment. My garbage isn't always full of paper trash like plates, cups, silverware, etc. I can't even imagine setting a table, but with plastic and paper goods. That seems like an oxymoron to me, lol!
