Disappearing Discussions!

This is not a post in which I am going to threaten to leave or anything like that - I have too many good friends and special people on mylot to do something like that - and it is also not one of my usual positive posts! As most of my friends will know I have a back condition which means I can't get on to mylot for very long at one time. For the first time in almost a week I posted 2 discussions the other day and as I went in to read the comments today I was told that they had been deleted - I have contacted mylot asking why but have heard nothing yet.
I have 2 main points here - Yes I do try and comment on every response that is posted to my discussions - I try to be constructive and feel that it is only common courtesy to let people know that you appreciate their input and since we do not earn from these comments what harm is it doing to mylot? The second point is that although I usually post longer responses - sometimes your point can be made much more clearly if done in a concise manner - so how do they know that a shorter answer is not a good one?
I am not trying to look for sympathy or to complain about this just for the sake of it - maybe there is something that I am missing ( usually is lol) but I have been quite upset today since that happened and Have lost some of my positive attitude!
To anyone who responded to my discussions and lost points I apologise and I wish i had had the chance to read your responses!

Hello mummymo, this is one problem of myLot. Our discussions can get deleted without reasons. I won't go into this again as it will again sour my day. :P
I am sorry to read that your discussions have been deleted too. One can only guess but cannot be sure.. they did not reply me on my discussion that was deleted too.
I don't know what to say but to just move on. For one, it doesn't affect your earnings since discussions don't really earn any money. I understand your feeling too. Perfectly. I felt real bad and I think you may be feeling the same.
Just take it as some "necessary evil" I guess. As long as we are still staying at myLot, pretty much nothing we can do. :/

Yes, it would be nice if, before deleting any of our discussions that we get notification of WHY it is being deleted, rather than finding it suddenly gone! I know what you mean tho' you do get slightly bemused and it does affect you when this happens. I don't think you're doing anything wrong, but on the other hand it would be nice to know if you were you were told about it!

Oh dear, I´m sorry to hear that 2 of your discussions were deleted. I don´t think it´s due to the fact that you comment on the responses you get.
I´m not sure why "exactly" the site can delete a post. I´ve certainly never seen you post anything inappropiate.
I can imagine how you feel, it must be really annoying. Hopefully mylot will give you an answer.
Don´t worry about it too much, it´s happened to other people who always start good discussions, I´m afraid there´s not much we can do about it.
Just keep participating (I really enjoy your posts) and look after yourself.

Hi mummymo, that must mean they are very very cautious about religious issues. I personally didn't find that offensive as there are allot of similar jokes around describing all religions like the cow joke.
Doesn't it hurt though, not knowing. We assume the worst if left in the dark.

Yup had this happen several times adn not even sure whta i did wrong or did not do right they seem to jsu tpoof disa ppera nad you are left guessing .

Yup it does i lost a few last night too but learnign to expect it would nto mind if theywould send a e-mail saying what was wrong or if peopel were complaining about the topic so much for free speech on this site.

Hello,mummymo,I also had a couples of discussions deleted by mylot,I was sure those discussions were absolutely following the discussion guidelines and I had searched before I started the discussions,I was sure no one had started something similar before,one topic was about watching television and the other was about washing hands after going to the bathroom,i sent a message to mylot and asked them why,and they replied me once and asked me to check the discussion guidelines,what i could say was wathcing TV and washing hands in bathroom were considered as offensive.

sorry this happened to you too easy888 I think rom what I can gather that mylot are having a clearup but like you I couldn't think of anything I had done against the guidelines!
At least you got a response - I am still waiting! Lets just hope that this is going to stop now! Good Luck my friend xxx

I am so sorry this has happened pall , I have heard it happens quite a lot , I do hope admin let you know why the have taken it off , I think I would feel the same as you if mine were deleted , Don't worry if we loose out lol its not as if we are loosing pounds lol , and even if we were nobody would point the finger at you , take care pal xx

Lakota they were just jokes but maybe one day I will find out why! The positive mummymo is back in action though and i will not let it affect my future use of mylot - I would miss all my wonderful friends too much! Hope your mum is settling in to her new home - I continue to pray for you all honey! xxx

Mummymo, you are not alone. I too had a discussion removed. It would be nice if they warned you first that they were going to take it out, and with reasons, but I'm afraid there isn't much we can do about it. We agreed to Mylot's Terms of Service and if that's their course of action, then I doubt we can defend ourselves from it.

There could be a reason that we do not know about as to why a discussion has been deleted. Maybe someone has posted a bad reply to the discussion and has had to be deleted because of one of the rules being broken.

Thank you for raising this point deeeky - nice to see you again btw - although I have seen a response getting deleted because it was 'bad' I have never seen the whole discussion being deleted! Worth thinking about though hon - you could be right! Hope you had a great Easter! xxx

I'm sorry to hear this has happened. As much as I like mylot and even more so since the upgrade, I have noticed that a lot more discussions than before are being deleted. Not only that, but it seems nobody is getting answers as to why.
I've never seen a discussion of yours that broke Mylot rules and so one can only begin to wonder why.
I do hope that Mylot will get back to you and let you know why they were deleted. I mean, how can we fix things when we don't know what we did wrong in the first place?
I hope you're starting to feel better.

Thanks rugrat - I totally agree with your points - that is the hardest part - are there going to be more deleted discussions cos I don't know what I have done wrong to start with? If I do get a response I will let you all know so that no one else is caught off guard! I am feeling really quite good today honey - thanks for asking! xxx

hi honey...i'm getting very frustrated with mylot just now as i've already told u...between the pages jumping about like mad and losing discussions all the time...then i tried to reply to raydene's p.m. about 3 times but they kept vanishing so i just gave up in the end.grrr love you honey.xxx

Thank you for sharing this with us. I would have been worried if it had happened to me being quite new so it is better to know that it happens to well established members too. I am sorry to hear it happened to you as with over 1180 posts and a 10 star you are excellent. I can only hope to do as well sometime. Admin seems to be very strange as I have seen some very short posts or ones on strange subjects when the members do not reply to answers that have been allowed to stay. Very odd. Keep trucking. If you haven't noticed already you will soon . that this place can be quite addictive and it won't be too long and you'll have 500 posts , then you'll blink your eyes and have passed 1000 lol ! Well Mo I do not know why they where deleted and I do know that you have not been here a while so I really do not understand why
You have never written any Discusions to my Knowledge that have been against mylot Guidelines or not good enough so I do not understand why

Oh dear I do not know why mylot admin would of done this to you I do respond to your discussions whenever they come in here I did also lose some points and maybe this is why but I do not know why mylot admin deleted your discussions. But I never reply to all my discussions as I know that we are not supposed to do that I have learnt.

I answered this once but came back because I have those 2 discussions in my email.I reread them this AM.I was trying to figure out why they were deleted.The one about the woman wanting to be six again totally baffled me.I couldn't find anything even slightly offensive or controversial about it.The second referred to different countries and although I thought it was a hoot someone could have complained thinking you are making fun of them.We all know that there seems to be a few mylot users that spend most of their time here complaining about other discussions!
I am in hopes that this will slow down.I know you would never do anything to hurt anyone.You are a sweet person.I've read your stuff since I came to myLot and you were one of my first friends here..I have read EVERY discussion you've writen!
I wish that every person on myLot could just IGNOR what they don't agree with or write a rebuttal.If each would wisely use their myLot time answering things that interest them and steering away from things that don't this site can back to being the great place it was.

I thank mylot every day for allowing me to meet some wonderful people from all different backgrounds in countries all over the world honey - specially you! You are right I would never set out to hurt anyone and usually defend people of different faiths and cultures - this one poked fun at myself too but you could be right! I have only ever complained about a response if someone has been personally attacked - about twice I think - otherwise as you say I would either put my point in or just choose to ignore the whole post! Thank you for checking this for me as I have no way of doing it! Love you babes , and it's fine positive mummymo is back and kicking! xxxx

still haven't heard from the powers that be raydene - so I am not sure! Thanks for mailing them to me - I will wait a few days and if I don't hear anything I will post them again - just a bit wary of doing so in case they get deleted again! Thank you for always being there! xxx

Hi Sweets,I'm sorry that you had some things deleted and I know how you feel.I was beginning to think I'd lost my mind when I got the email telling me why I'd been deleted.A while back I had a whole discussion deleted and kept thinking I was just not seeing it.I have read many post on this so I am thinking it's not unusual to have stuff deleted.I am glad that they let me know why so I won't screw up again.
I had thought a while back that there was something wrong with mylot site as I thought it was eating my posts..
Only + thing is in this aspect I'm not nuts!..lol
