I am starting to get into mystery shopping. I was wondering if you have done this before? If so did you make good money doing it? And what mystery shopping companies do you recommend based on your experience. Also if you have any tips you can give me about mystery shopping that is appreciated... Thank you!

I've always used bestmark.com to do my secret shopping. They are really easy to work with, and the surveys aren't usually too complicated. They give you a list of ones you can choose from, if you get the shop that you want, you get on the site and print off the survey and instructions and everything. You complete the shop and survey and then fax it in. It's very easy. They have several different kinds of shops you can do, too. I've usually done restaurant ones or simple electronic store shops. I have a 14 month old son so I have to do stuff that he can go with me on. I've never had any problems with taking him on any of them. The pay for a restaurant shop is usually around $5-8 plus they reimburse you around $20 for the meal I believe. I'm sure it's different for each restaurant, but that's what the prices are here in ND. Anyway, we usually end up paying less than $10 more than what we get reimbursed, including my son's kids meal and the tip, along with the two adult meals that are required. So I guess technically we aren't making any money, but I'll take a free meal. :) The other shops pay around $5-8 here too. You just have to buy one item and talk to people. You can buy something that costs less than $1 or somethign that you were meaning to get from there anyway, so you actually make a little bit of profit on this one. Depending on where you are from, they could very well have more opportunities in your area. I live close to a small town in the middle of nowhere, and could still find enough to do a couple of them a week if I had the time and wanted to. If you live somewhere big, I'm sure your opportunities will be much greater.
