Is it possible to become filthy rich from blogging?

I'm curious if it really is possible to start a business empire on the proceeds from blogging. A lot of people online swear their blogs helped them buy their car and house, or pay off mortgage, or start a new business. This is well and good, but are these testimonials even true? And if they're true, how does one become filthy rich from blogging?

I make about $0.50 a day with my blog I have on a certain website. You get paid for how many views you get in a day. I put my blog link in a few of those auto surfing websites, and voila! ohh...they are true i guess but the chances of a new comer to become a hit is nearly 1 in 1 million!!!
I have been blogging since 4 months and it does really pay that much as expected. No doubt it works for many , but it works for everyone is doubt! you can start up a small blog of ur interest and then understand for your self what the blogging industry has in store for you.
For me, i am happy with what little i am earnings and got no comlains but yeah time is something that is just wasted over these stuff.
