Why are so many email scammers from Nigeria?

Why am I getting so many mails from Nigeria? Why can't these spams come from, say, Timbuktu? Come to think of it, why have I never received any spam mail selling me viagra from a lovely person from Timbuktu?

i think it just has something to do with the scammer business was started by the nigerians. Dont open them, when you do it like puts you in a loop or soemthing and you get more and more. Delete whenever you see the title that says "hello friend" or "waiting for your reply, friend" from some strange email address. Its always those scummy scammers.

really? when you opened one of them.. it creates a loop? So that is why it doesn't stop. I even replied one, I told the sender i know he is scamming lol

its so true. I get a lot of scam email from Nigeria or South Africa too. What if they don't really come from someone in Nigeria? Maybe they just use Nigeria to deface the Nigerian citizenry.. Aww!
