Do you Prefer the Dishwasher or Hand Washing?

I am definitely guilty of not using my dishwasher as much as I thought I would. Sometimes I think that it is just easier and even faster to just do them up by hand. It kind of depends on the day. What do you think? How often do you use your dishwasher? Is it really the ultimate in convenience?

I've never actually had a dishwasher; all the washing up in our house gets done by hand.
Oddly enough, my wife and I both enjoy wshing up! I have to say that I use the time I spend washing up to just think, catch up on my day, generally kick back and relax.
My wife and I will often have chats around the sink whilst one of us washes and the other dries - so we regard hand washing as a great advantage over the idea of a dishwasher.

i'm hand washing right now because the dishwasher broke-but i prefer the machine better.
not really for the convienience factor, but because i think it sterilizes them better.

I detest doing dishes by hand, and with three kids and two adults in the house, there's no way I'd ever keep up.
One advantage to the dishwasher is that we can load it as we dirty the dishes, so the dishes don't sit on the counters or in the sink. We just run it when it gets full enough, unload when it's done and start putting dirty dishes in again. Really helps keep the kitchen neater!
If the dishwasher breaks, my kids are going to learn very quickly how to do dishes by hand. ;)
