My Wife introduced me the other day as her partner and we've never called each other that. It really rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe I'm just hormonal but, I'm still thinking about it. All this is a little stupid b/c I've never been one for labels, guess I'm a big'ole hipacrit.
If you're in a long term same sx realtionship, or have had a commitment ceramony, wedding, civil union, etc... what do you call each other?
Do you have a wife, partner, spouse, domestic partner, lover, roomate, friend? WHow are you know to each other and who do you refer to each other to other people?

She probably meant it as a compliment to you. A partner is a positive label that means she thinks of you as an equal in everything you do in your relationship.
