Any techniques you have to remember things?

I'm going nuts looking for things. I could swear that I saw this item just yesterday, but is isn't where I thought I saw it and I don't remember moving it and I can find it anywhere else. I'm out of ideas.
I've closed my eyes and imagined handling it but can't remember. I've gone back to where I thought I saw it and hoped for my cellular memory to give a hint to where I'd put it.
Nothing is working! It is driving me batty. What should I do?

I guess we share the same problem.. I'm having this problem for a long time also, about 5 minutes after thinking then I would suddenly forget what it was.. It's pretty bad for me actually that's why I always write things down always, except for where I put the things. I think one factor also is that we should try to eat something healthy that can boost our memory..

Had not thought of food as a solution. But you are right about eating healthy helping us think. Thanks.

I think so. I'm now questioning whether I ever really possessed the item or was I thinking of a similar one.
Is this what senility is like?
So frustrating.

I am having the same problem too. I always forget where I put things. I have started to label my boxes now so that I know what I put where. I guess this is a symptom of getting older... hu huu... Hopefully somebody can give us tips on how to improve our memory.

So how do you remember which box to look for when looking for something you've put in a box? I was actually in the process of sorting things out, organizing them, putting things together that go together when I lost this item. It is rather large, so it has to be visible. But I'm just not seeing it!
