Who handles the finances in your family and do you have joint accounts or seperate ones? If you have seperate ones, how do you decide who pays for what? Are you happy with your system or would you change it? Do you and your husband ever fight about money?

I am not married, however I have a live in bf =9
We do have 2 accounts but it is working fine for me. Usually the money are at home and we just take what we need. We also have a phonelink inbetween our accounts so that we both can transfer money from one to the other and we do all the time. I think it is just a matter of not getting around to get a joined one =)

My husband and I used to have separate accounts but that was due to issues my husband had. When his ex left him she cleaned their joint account out to the tune of 6,000 dollars. I understood that it wasn't me, he was just scared. We used his account for bills, I would deposit a certain amount from my pay in his account, and my account I used for everything else, like groceries or miscellanious purchases.
Eventually, we gravitated to a joint account, he got over his trust issues, and it makes it a whole lot easier.

One account, period. I wrote an article on my views about this here: http://www.helium.com/tm/157111
Finances are a big part of life, an in a marriage it is key to be on the same page and ensure that both of your votes count.
