I have a dream job! I work for a book company that allows me to buy 4 books per day at 50 cents each. I'm buying books 4 days a week. The employee bookstore is open only 4 days, otherwise it would be more. I've been bringing books home almost daily.
What's the last book you bought? Did you read it?

I would LOVE to have that job! Books are an addiction for me. If I go to the bookstore and buy one I end up buying four or five. The last time I bought books was at a book signing for Brian Keene. I bought Ghoul and Terminal.

That is so cool. I know I would do the same thing. What kind of books do they have for you. Are they good new ones or damaged in some small way. Are the overruns? Well it sure is sweet. I like to hear of people with a really neat job such as that. I just got 4 books myself since I belong to a book trading site. Laurell K. Hamilton 3 books Burnt Offerings and Bloody Bones and Obsidian Butterfly. Then a 4 story book by 4 authors called Hot Blooded. I like horror books. Thanks for telling us of your job. Good topic!

They have current titles available. Some are damaged, things like torn book jacket or smushed pages, but most of them are in great condition. They're returns that our company can't turn around and ship again. Great titles. I'll be looking for Hamilton next time I'm in the store. I haven't read any horror in ages. I did recently start Stephen King's Lisey's Story. So far a good read. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi! I'm another book lover! LOL I got a lot of my appreciation for books from my brother. I'm grateful for that now, since I want to teach my little daughter how important it is to read! :-)
I love to read when I have the time. The last two books I bought I got from the Goodwill store LOL The last full-price book I bought was Why We Want You to Be Rich by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki. I am enjoying it a great deal. I've taken a turn toward financial books lately, but I did recently buy Everyone Worth Knowing and The Nanny Diaries. Sometime when I'm ready for an "escape," I'll start those.

You sure do have a dream job. However, I think if I got a job like that right now it would be a nightmare. I have 200 books in this house waiting to be read. I don't know when I will get to them all. The last book I bought... hmmm... I immediately read Robin McGraw's book when I got it. I keep going back and forth from Phil Keoghan's book. I bought a Wayson Choy book two years ago when I met the author and I still haven't read it. I've just go so much stuff going on, and so many books to read, I never know what to do with myself half the time.

I purchased two books and one of them wasn't for me to read. The first was a sign language book, as my daughter is learning sign language and thought this would be a good to help her look at the pictures. The one for me is The Chronicles of Nardia The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. I have read this book before, but decided it was time to add it to my book collection. I plan to start reading it on Monday.

My first language was sign language! My mother was deaf, so I learned to sign before I spoke. I wish your daughter luck in learning sign language. The Chronicles of Narnia are also a must-have for my library. I've only read the first volume. I'm not a fan of fantasy, but it's a classic, and I think it ought to be in everyone's book collection.

The Last book I bought was Russell Simmon's "Do You" he was on Oprah last monday discussing his book and all, and I saw it at Walmart a couple of days later, so I went and bought the book to have and so far, it is very good.

Do you mean an encyclopedia with lots of volumes? I didn't know those were still around. The thing with encyclopedias is that they become outdated so quickly. But it is neat to look at old ones and see how much history has changed. Sounds like you have a treasure.

You really are lucky to purchase books for 50 cents. I love reading and love collecting books as well and so am always on the look out for a good bargain. I cannot really afford new books so its mostly secondhand books for me. I read almost anything from horror, to si-fi to romance to children's books to historical books. However im not into non-fiction books much i prefer fiction. I think i own over 300 books but never got down to actually counting htem. Plan to catelouge them but never seem to find the time.

Wow! I would love that job, I wouldn't need any other benefits. I am so far behind on book reading but just can't stop buying them (it's a big weakness of mine). I have a pile that I have yet to read. I just bought a couple last week (required reading for the paranormal group that I joined)...they are "Synchronicity" by Carl Jung, and "A Briefer History Of Time", by Stephen Hawking.

I'm very much interested in the paranormal. I understand those titles you purchased are ambitious reads. I would like to know more when you get a chance.
The last books I purchased were:
YOU ARE PSYCHIC
KAMA SUTRA (This one was for a friend. She just got married.)

Its a great job to have, I wonder whether they will have a bookstore like this at all. The place I live in They dont even let employees bo=roow from the secondhand book section, let alone buy books at a reduced rate. Anyway, I love reading books, since buiyng books is expensive, I borrow from a local Library. Hhhmmmm... the last book I bought is .... Innocent man of John Grisham's. It was a great book. It was the first book of his narrated from an actual incident.

I couldn't bear to wait for my books. Before this job, I received a lot of discount books catalogues. Are you familiar with Daedalus Books or Edward Hamilton? They have books for cheap, but it's hit or miss. I like the instant gratification of going to the store and coming out with what I want.

The last 3 books I've bought, I had listened to one & wanted a paper copy, one I've read & passed on to a friend who just had knee surgery & I'm going to start on the last soon. I also bought the preque to the one I listened to, I think I may have a copy of it already, but all my books are packed - dern - so I found it on line & got it.
The other book I got recently I've also read.

Reduced to buying used books-just got two Lemony snickets- fun to read the bad beginning and the hostile hospital. Just discovered catherine Atkinson and have been reading hers. Incidentally one of my favorites whose books I read as soon as they are available(having made a friendship withthe librarian who also likes him) is Phil rickman who writes the Merrily Watkins books. Love that occult element.
