I already have a labrador as a pet and wanted to bring home a Cat. But, my sister would not approve it.
She thinks "Cats Are Cunning"......... and very tempermental...... they are very moody......... and that I cannot have a cat as a pet.
Do you agree on this. I strongly disagree.

Cats are not bad pets. But if someone has asthma in the house, it is not advisable to have pets because of the dust from them which trigger the attack for asthmatic people. But cats are nice pets. I had four before but now I just have one.

Your sister said all those disapproving words about cats simply because, she doesn't want to have a cat in the house. Just listen to her. Do not bring home a cat. It will deter the occurrence of quarrels and disagreements over something which doesn't have to be an issue.

I disagree, I have 4 cats and I love my babies, they are friendly and cuddly and if you show them love they will show it back to you.

i have 2 female cats, i love them both! i don't think they are bad, they just have to grow in you... i took my cats in while they are still young so they just grew with me over a year, the other one is pregnant already... my mom before don't want cats coz i might get asthma but i hug and kiss them everyday and i don't get sick... so the bottomline is... i disagree to your sister... ;)

She sounds like my grandpa who always said dogs are faithful;and will wait for the master to finish theior meal but cats are greedy they want to eat before the master has eaten. Dog will always come back toyou wherever you leave him but cats would leave you and wont stay, lol. Its all old age pet discrimination. I don't think poor cats even know about it. they are lovely creatures and feel if you have lion's lineage you are bound to act a bit royal. Can you blame them? Go with your heart an get a cat iof you love them I think its a beautiful pet fit for a princes.

I disagree completely, all the cats I've known were incredibly loving and sweet. True, they're not as complying as dogs are and you certainly can't train them to the same extent (although you can indeed train them!), but they're great pets. Your sister sounds like she's never actually spent time with a cat before so she's just using the same old words to describe cats that cat haters always use. She should give it a try, the cat would probably feel she doesn't like him/her anyway and stay well away from her! Or if it's a particularly smart cat (cunning indeed, but what's so bad about being cunning!) it'll hang around her deliberately, hehe.

It sounds to me that your sister has not been around cats. They are loving pets and have their own personalities as do dogs. I had a few cats over the years and none of mine were tempermental and the only time they were moody was when they were sick. People get moody when they are sick so what is the difference. You can not truly dislike a animal unless you have first hand experience with them. She needs to get to know a few cats and she would appreciate what good pets they make.

Cats are cunning, but not to the degree that they will cause you problems.
I have a cat and she is the sweetest thing I've ever known. I think a lot of people mistake their independence for being cunning to be honest.
Cats aren't like dogs in that they need constant attention. After all, they look after themselves. They clean themselves, they entertain themselves and all they ask for in return is food and water, and a warm lap from time to time.
They sleep a lot, but they can be playful too. I don't think you'd have a problem with a cat to be honest. The only thing you'd have to be careful with is introducing your dog to the cat and making sure they get along with one another.
