My Computer Is Too Slow

I need help from all MyLotter to adjust my computer. I think my computer is crazy. Too slow expecially during start up and loading something. This is my computer specification. My computer is windows XP SP2 and 256RAM only. Total HD is only 40GB. I think I've lots of free space. About antivirus I used Kaspersky. I also think Kaspersky make my computer slower that I used AVG7.5. So, I hope someone can help me to solved this problem.
