Why do we sometimes be with a person whom we dont actually love?

I think everyone experiences this sometime in his/her life that we stay around a person whom we dont love. I mean, why cant we just say no? And if we say no, why cant the other person just understand that we dont like that person and its good for both of us not be together? Why is it all so confusing? Why cant we just go and have fun and hang around with people we truly like or admire? Cant there be this perfect environment where we just have fun with people i mean good people? This particularly happens in a group when we dont like a particular person but cant tell him/her because this wud not be nice to the group. i am having this trouble for a long time now and just cannot get out of it? Any suggestions.
