this really blows my mind and I have to say annoys the hell out of me...Why is it ppl assume that women get their boobs done for either a man they are with or to attract a man if they are single?? That is very very RARELY the reason behind it....and granted women who do it for someone else need to be slapped really hard with a shoe cause thats just not right...but there are those of us (the majority) who do it becuase we want to feel happy in our own skin, we want to like what we see in the mirror, we want to wear our clothes not have our clothes wear us, we want to feel like a woman with a proportioned body and so on.....Man let me tell ya, I was SO small chested I had indents for boobs and my n!pples stuck out my back ;-) then I had my two oldest kids and yes after that I had boobs...sort of...more like saggy skin actually and they kept getting stuck in my zipper....I had a nice body, tall, leggy, toned etc but the boob thing..it was an embarrasment, it was frustrating trying to find clothes that fit properly and I just didnt feel right physically....Luckily for my job (stripper) I had my legs, hair, and my overall show to throw out there without ppl noticing I didnt really show my breasts let alone flaunt them....
I wanted implants when I was 17-18 yrs old....after I had my kids I really really wanted them...I finally got them done when I was in my 30s and though they are still droopy LOL (the doc wanted to do a lift too but I said no) I love them, clothes look better on me, I'm more confident dressing up etc, shopping for outfits is fun rather than frustrating, I feel much better about me and my being a woman....
I didnt do it for some guy, I didnt do it to attract some guy, I didnt do it for work purposes (I'd actually retired already), I didnt do it for any reason other than myself and my own self image/confidence etc.....
Why is it though that ppl assume those of us who get them done are foolish, doing it out of desperation to hook some man or to keep the man we are with etc? and why is it so many ppl are against it?

I have also thought about this. My brother had a gf who wanted brest-inplants since the age of 15 more or less. She waited until she reached the age of 20 and then got them.- They had been together for 2 years and this is as happy as I have seen her. For the first time in her life she was comfortable with herself and with her body.
I do agree with people going under the knife if they have thought about it and are doing it for them self.. but like u say - it is very rarely that people do it for someone elses sake...
The pain and healing afterwards is not worth going through for someone else!

I don't assume that. Especially considering that I would do it if I had the money. I am 25 years old and have had 5 kids. If anything, I would love a lift. Put them puppies back up where they should be. lol. It's more of a thing that I want to do for ME. Not for anyone else. I would like to look in the mirror and thing, wow, those are nice. I would like to not have to wear a bra and a sports bra together to keep them up! lol.

I also think it's a self image thing, and not done to attract or keep a man. Good on you for having it done and as long as you're happy with it that's all that matters. It's all to do with feeling comfortable in your own body and if you feel out of proportion then I think it's OK to get it fixed. When I was in my 20's I was also extremely flat chested, but now i'm in my 40's my size has increased and I have a nice pert pair of boobs now! LOL!! ;)

Good for you! You had it done for ALL the right reasons. I am so glad you posted this discussion . I have not needed to have that done, the opposite would perhaps have been my choice when I was younger. I think it is great for a woman's self esteem to be proud of her body and to enhance it if necessary. Isn't that why we wear make-up?

I've wanted to get mind done for years. I'm a 'big girl' except there - I have a very unbalanced appearance because of it and it makes it difficult to find clothes like dresses - if it fits my backside there is way to much room in the bosom -
