in the eyes of the world after judging us as the number one corrupt country in Asia. Despite of the tag, and we are all aware of it all of us have the responsibility to defend our country. If a foreigner approach you and ask you, will you just admit it or will you defend it?

It is true that graft and corruption in the Philippines is rampant and we would be telling lies if we deny it and we will not progress also if we consent to it. If confronted about it, I would say that the majority of the people are doing something to curb the problem.

I don't believe that our country is really that corrupt. There are a lot of honest guys in this country. They may be just ordinary citizens or, they may be working for some companies or, they may be connected with some government offices. Those people who conducted the survey, did they really take a good look into this, or did they just simply take things at the surface and judged from there? I have heard of so many instances where people I know have gone some place and extortions are taking place in a manner unheard of in the Philippines.

I don't think millions of foreigners care about that news anyway, they have their own problems to solve and concentrate. The only foreigners who are raising brouhaha on this news are those who got direct financial and ideological interest with us here. Rather than concentrate on this topic, speaking to a foreigner, I better concentrate on telling the positive sides of my beloved country. We have a lot of beautiful things all around us -- they are just clouded by negativism promoted by media. Even a lot of foreigners are surprised to see the beauty of the Philippines once they got there. Why? Because all they hear about us from the media are negatives.

i will defend it by admitting that our government has been corrupt and some of the people are corrupt also because they see that their leaders are really corrupt. As they say to know the problem solves half of the problem. by admitting the fact, i will also tell them that many of the more patriotic few are struggling to counter it by information campaign and by resisting corruption in our own little ways.
