Do we need to allow more countries to play international cricket

its now obvious that the top teams are underperforming and sometimes the game is too predictable or boring. Countries like Bangladesh, Ireland and Kenya have sprung surprises. I know that countries like the USA, Canada, Scotland, and many more have cricket teams. Will bringing them to international games give them a chance to improve and also probably cause a breath of much needed fresh air in the game of cricket. I agree that initially these teams may really be thrashed, but noone starts off as experts. With experts now crashing out.... maybe its time to give others a chance!

I guess yes they should be given more chances against good teams even if top 10 low ranking teams play only one day international against every test status country it would be quite good enough for them to have such experience and they'll get some exposure aswell and ofcourse the people in their country will also start taking interest in cricket as many of other countries do have cricket teams but their citizens dont even know whats this sport all about so giving them chances against big teams will not only give them much needed experience but also a chance to get more support from their own nation, will also increase the revenue aspect of ICC so i guess there is alot to be gain by giving them some minor chances and also the restrictions of a player playing from one country and than transferring to the another must be ended so that they can have some good cricketers in their teams aswell atleast they will enhance the quality of their fellow team members to some extent.

yes to popularise this game, its absolutely imperetive to increase participating teams in tournaments like the WC. but just mere participation after a gap of 4yrs, wont help the cause of the game much. these minnows need to be seriously promoted and for that the ICC should arrange for major teams like Australia, NZ, SA, India, Pak, SL etc to play with them and ensure that these teams take their front-line players for such series. only then will the game improve and spread throughout the world.

Well Cricket has been around for a long time now but it has not been picked up by many countries except a handful ,I don't think that there is any descent cricket playing team that has not entered this world cup, Meaning there is no other countries that take cricket seriously.
In my opinion base ball and cricket have a few similarities
and many countries prefer playing baseball than cricket.
And if there were any good teams out there i think they would
enter the world cup anyhow. I must say i don't agree with you that teams that are thrashed may improve in a period of time chances are they may quit playing it or they may keep getting thrashed. Look at Srilanka they almost were a threat from the word go.

ohh yeah, what u say is true. We need to give chances for the weaker teams also. Who knows, they might become one australia or new zealand after a few years. Its really boring to see aussies get the cup every year. It looks like we know the result of the series even before it begins. But countries like bangladesh and ireland show that they are capable of defeating a well settled team abd bring surprises. Bangladesh has defeated 2 teams like india and South africa. Which is total surprise to themselves and to te entire world .So we should defenitely encourage these countries which are sprouting up now.
