My reading runs across a wide spectrum, everything from Sc-Fi, Fantacy, Mystery, and even those society novels you spoke of!
I usually have a couple of different books going at once Right now I have the Valdemar Books books on my livingroom computer, I have James Patterson's Alex Cross novels in the bedroom, and something or other sitting in the bathroom [don't recall the name right now]
Many years ago I had a friend label me a compulsive reader, if nothing else is around I will read the cearal box!

So why do you like what you read??? I like the series, as someone mentioned earlier, lol, for the same reasons I come to feel I KNOW the characters
Reading is my choosen escapism, I don't care for most tv, and I usually hate what tv or movies does to the books I love

Sometimes I read Science fiction books but I like more suspense and thriller books. I also like contemporary literature. I read mostly in French and little in English.

I love French. I have yet to be able to read books in it though :) (this is one of my greatest discontents so far, that I used to know French so well and now it feels so very rusty -- I still love it though :) ).
I read a lot in English because a lot of interesting books have yet to be translated in my native language :) I love suspense and thriller books too. I also read quite a bunch of contemporary literature and to tell the truth I found some really nice authors :)
Thanks for the comment :)

That's a hard question I love so many books. I really like fantasy books and some sci-fi. I love horror books like Stephen King. My favorite kind of books though would be alternate reality or dystopia novels.

I love science fiction, horse books, and then mysteries - but I mostly only read series mysteries, I like to know the people, then when I come back they are like friends. But I do like them to be likable, I find Agatha Christi's detectives rather irritating - well, except for her young couple she wrote a few about.
