I am a very obnoxious and blunt person...Always have been.. I Always speak my mind no matter what, and never lie to someone, even if lying would probably make them feel better at that specific time... People who know me,say it is a terrible trait to have...What do you think?

I dont think so, but I'm the same way. If you don't want my opinion don't ask me. Most times I do try and put it in a nice way though. I bet the people who know you still ask for your opinion though, because they know your gonna give an honest answer.

I'm a blunt person (though I personally wouldn't call it an obnoxious trait), and I have a lot more respect for people who are direct and honest like I am than I do for people who try to dance around a subject or sugarcoat it. To me, if someone doesn't tell me straight, they are insulting me by implying that I can't handle reality. I do run into people who think I'm rude or whatnot, but I don't let it bother me. I know that I am not the one lying or altering the truth just to spare feelings. Most people will get over hurt feelings, and be grateful to know the truth. My mother is one who is all diplomatic, lying through her teeth about "oh yes, that outfit looks great on you" when it doesn't, etc. Heck, I'd rather know the truth so I won't wear the outfit again and look like an idiot! I think the world needs people like us to keep perspective. Otherwise, everyone would run around not seeing reality because they'd rather keep their rose-colored glasses version.

I too can be the same way sometimes. I don't let people push me around, and if someone wants to say something to me, I'll have something to come back with. I am a very blunt person sometimes. I don't care what others think of me, and I don't care if they like what I have to say. But sometimes I can be a laid back quiet person. I have equal traits.

I am the same way, and yes it does get me into trouble at times. I was always told that you need to treat people the same way you want to be treated, so since I want people to be completely honest with me even if it will hurt my feeling, I act the same way. I would rather hear my friends tell me my butt looks fat in a pair of jeans and have my feelings a little hurt than them say how great I look only later to over-hear a stranger say how bad I look.
