I have had a yahoo account since 2001, used it almost on a daily basis. I went to sign in and couldn't and after going to the help section, found out that my account was "de-activated" they said that it was due to their TOS agreement.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Is there a way to re-activate that account?
I've lost my saved emails, my IM contacts, pictures and blogs.
This happened without warning.
Any help I could get I'd appreciate!

This is the first time i am hearing that someone's yahoo id has been deactivated due to TOS. Why don't you ask the yahoo team to explain it more eloborately on what or which TOS that you had broken so that it won't happen in the future? I hope that you get back your id soon.

The only time that I've heard of a person's email account from Yahoo being de-activated was due to spamming from that email address. If the account was not cancelled and just de-activated, you should be able to ask Yahoo to have it reactivated. They are typically pretty good about returning emails.

Wow, I've never heard this happening. I think I've had my Yahoo account for over ten years. I can't imagine what could have happened. I would have to look at the TOS to see what kind of violations that they would consider deleting an account for. I think you might have to sign up all over again. I don't know if you can get any of your stuff back, though. Good Luck!
I have Yahoo, too, so I'd better check those terms so it doesn't happen to me.

Yahoo occasionally deactivate accounts. That happened to my mom and she lost all her important files, etc. I think that account could no longer be reactivated. What my mom did was to create other yahoo accounts but those documents lost were never recovered. That happened without any warning too. Better have many accounts where to save the important ones.

yeah, if I had known this could happen I'd have saved some of the things to my computer or put them in myspace or something.
I think from now on anything that I think is worth anything, I'll keep where I know I can get to it in more than one place and that won't be on yahoo.
My daughter is pregnant with my first grandchild and I had a few poems there that I wrote and she wanted to print out.
I think it's a shame that they can do this with no kind of pre-warning.....some kind of notice saying "your account is about to be deleted" would have worked!
