Probably the best site i know for learning how to write html is http://www.w3schools.com. It doesnt just cover HTML, it covers all the languages, Such as Javascript,CSS and PHP. I recommend learning CSS if you are going to create a website as its really good for layout. W3chools also provides information on web building in general. This is where I learnt to make sites.

Try http://webmonkey.com - they have an html cheatsheet that has html codes on it as well as tutorials on creating websites. Hope this helps!
