Days in the sun

Why is it that when the sun comes out there is always somebody that thinks the whole of the street wants to listen to their taste in music? I don't know how people manage to live in places like New York or Hong Kong all on top of each other. Do you live in the countryside? Does the noise of the tractors reverberate around the valley? Is it difficult to get supplies or children to school? Is it full of tourists in the Summer? Is it lovely and peaceful?

I was just discussing to-day with a couple of friends. I used to live in Dublin and like you say, as soon as we saw a bit of sun, out came all the ghetto blasters. I think each house was in competition with the other to see whose was the loudest. I am now living in a small village in the countryside and I can't believe how peaceful it is. I don't hear many tractors unless they are just trying to get from one place to another and although I have no small children, it wouldn't be a problem getting them to school. The schools have mini buses which drive around the countryside collecting the children to take them to and from school. There are a couple of shops in the village and one of these provide the sae services as a post office. Saturdays and Sundays are very busy in the village as we get what we call the Sunday drivers, and I don't believe some of them have ever driven a car before. I love the countryside and although I have much further to travel to work, I would never move back into the city.

Oh bliss. How wonderful. How about a house swap during the summer holidays? LOL. I would love to move to the country but think my husband would miss all of his friends too much.

Hey magicalmerlin, I have always lived in a small area where that didn't really happen. It was always my ghetto blaster that was bugging everyone! LOL. I used to carry it around with me everywhere. I am ashamed to say I never really thought of others when it came to that. I now do live in the country and listen to the tractors and grain trucks now. The bus did come through town but there are no kids that go to school here anymore so it doesn't anymore. I have to travel half an hour at the very least to pick anything up that I need. No one will deliver out here unless it is a furniture company anything else we have to go get ourselves. It's not too often we get tourists but sometimes on a sunday we will. It is very peaceful. I love it! :)

Hi there. In the summer or on sunny days, there are a few people on my street that think everyone wants to listen to loud pumping techno music, and such a sunny and peaceful morning until we hear, "Boom! boom! boom! Boom!" Some people just dont like to enjoy peace and quiet...

I live in a sort of suberb of a wonderful little city of 60,00 0people but here in my apt complex there are some unfortunately
who have hardrock at full blast in their cars and to my'
dismay sometimes park under my window. arrgh. but
other than that we do not live on top of each other
and our complex has a huge garden with loads of trees and
flowering shrubs and all kinds of birds so its like living in nature here. so its lovely and semi peaceful and not
in the country quite although we have hills above us and wild life often strays down into our yards.

Thank you for adding to my discussion. I have not been around for a while (doesn't time fly!) but luckily only missed your post by one day. I will take a look at your posts.
