Why do you think people get made fun of on these kinds of sites?

What I mean is people who ask simple a question on these question/answer boards and then get awful and cruel responses. I have seen this happen to other people and I have had it happen to me before. If these sites like mylot or yahoo answers are to help people then why are people so mean in their replies? The rude replies often offer no actual advice, the reply only picks on the person for the way they speak english or the type of question that they ask.

The ability to hide behind an username gives some people the courage to let their true nasty selves emerge. Those who are often in doubt about themselves often times like to bring themselves up in their own estimation by bringing others down. That in combination with being for the most part nameless leads to some people being quite rude.
So, when you see someone being mean hiding behind the internet and a computer, feel sorry for that pathetic twisted, little person.

Well said, well said. Annonymity seems to bring out the worst in some people. Ah but the law of karma does not stop because others do not know who they are so it all comes back to them in the end.

Unfortunately you will find mean and nasty people everywhere. I try to ignore these idiots so far as I can, they contribute nothing to discussions and cause a lot of upset given half the chance. If you aare upset by them the best thing is to report them

You have a good point there. If you give them half the chance they can really upset you. I guess once you hit send on your question and post it for everyone to read you become invested in the outcome, so when someone is mean in their replies it really can hurt if you let it. "IF" being the opperative word. Thanks.
